SPRITE STATION!
Sprite Station is the Cape Beryl Harvest Sprites' base of operations of sorts, and from here, they have a number of ways to assist their friends. At the Sprite Casino, you can trade your Gold for Sprite Medals, which you can bet playing games for more Medals, spend at Sprite Market on its unique and occasionally changing inventory, or use to hire the teams to save you time on chores, help you make a bit of extra money, or perform errands.
The Harvest Sprites are divided into twelve teams, each with twelve members total, an associated color in which its members dress, and its own job. Not all 144 of Cape Beryl's Sprites are accounted for at this time, but nevertheless, if you'd like the Sprites' help with anything, they'll see what they can do - and if you're a farmer or are the good friend of a farmer (blue heart or higher - they'll test that!), they'll charge you half the usual Medals.
Animal Care Team
The Red Team's Harvest Sprites have the greatest way with animals, and can offer most any kind of help where they're concerned - whether it's with feeding and milking livestock or lending their understanding of animal instincts to help you tame a wild catch.
Services: 20 Medals for each animal, job, and day. If you ask the Red Team to handle collecting eggs and feeding your chickens for you for a week, the charge will be 560 Medals. The responsibilities they will consider one "job" are animal maintenance (includes feeding, basic grooming, and collection of by-products), herding/grazing (getting animals in and out of their shelters and keeping them from straying too far from the farm), training (whether teaching a dog tricks or a horse to recognize commands or starting the process of domesticating a wild animal), and bathing.
Leader: Robin
- Cockey
- Henn
Lumber Team
If you need lumber for any project but lack a handy axe, the conditioning, or the nerve to brave the deeper part of the woods, the Orange Team will have the equipment and willingness to handle it for you.
Services: 1 Medal per unit Lumber or 2 Medals per unit Black, White, or Green Lumber, or 50 Medals per hour of work. You can place an order for the fifty units of regular lumber and ten units of black lumber needed for a building project for 70 Medals, or you can pay 50 Medals for the Sprites to spend an hour helping you stock up for the future and wind up with a mix of regular and uncommon lumber. Bear in mind that the Orange Team will only be able to bring in so much after an hour without all of their members present!
Leader: Rock
- Mott
- Orlie
Mining Team
While the Orange Team will gather lumber for one without the willingness, ability, or preparedness to brave the woods, the Yellow Team, or "Mine Canaries" as their leader Yana has cheerfully nicknamed them, know their way around Mt. Throne and the Beach Caves well enough to efficiently gather stone, metal, and even gems for a speluncaphobe or one who needs a Mythril Hammer.
Services: 3 Medals per 5 units Stone, 5 Medals per unit Iron, 10 Medals per unit Copper, 15 Medals per unit Silver, 20 Medals per unit Gold, 30 Medals per unit Mythril, 50 Medals per unit of other precious medals and gemstones excluding diamond, 100 Medals per Diamond, 200 Medals per hour of metal mining, or 500 Medals per hour of gem mining.
Leader: Yana
- Fince
Crop and Garden Team
The flora counterpart to the Red Team. The Green Team are responsible and well-versed in caring for plants of all types.
Services: 50 Medals per day, per job. Watering plants and harvesting produce count as one job, since with single-harvest crops there's no need to do both - other jobs include scattering fertilizer and cutting grass. The Sprites will tend to all of the crops on your property when hired.
Leader: Geri
- Humbert
- Allerd
Foraging Team
The Teal Team know their way all around Cape Beryl, what nature scatters around it through the days and seasons, and how to spot them.
Services: 10 Medals per specific item or 100 Medals per day of foraging. You could pay the Teal Team 100 Medals to pick ten baskets of summer blackberries for you, or to spend the entire day foraging across the Cape and bring back, for example, eight of those baskets of berries, three of raspberries, and herbs from the forest.
Leader: Pico
- Mack
Fishing Team
The Blue Team are adept in everything from hand-fishing and using fish traps to line-and-hook fishing - all that they can't catch are open sea fish such as tuna or sharks; the idea of taking their tiny fishing boats out that far makes them uncomfortable.
Services: 10 Medals per small catch (such as smelts or river prawns, 30 Medals per medium catch (trout and codfish fit into this category), 50 Medals per large catch (the Sprites place fish such as eels, salmon, and most ocean fish here), 100 Medals per day of freshwater fishing, or 200 Medals per day of ocean fishing.
Leader: Jayme
- Hern
Magic and Rune Craft Team
The knowledge and equipment necessary to synthesize and use Rune isn't widespread or cheap - even Trent, the most magic-smart of the people of Bower Village, needs to buy raw Rune for his potions with Zeke's help. The Indigo Team can assist you if you need a bit of magic worked - or distilled - but lack the knowledge or the means to handle it on your own, selling Rune and offering their help in producing it and in spellcraft.
Services: 200 Medals per unit of pre-synthesized raw Rune, 100 Medals per unit of Rune to synthesize from sources provided by you, and 300 Medals per spell.
Leader: Lorick
- Scrub
Defense Team
If you need backup venturing into the woods or caves for any reason and can't find the kind of company you need, the Violet Team will lend you their skills. With their sizes, mind that their tactics focus on avoiding unnecessary contact and scaring aggressors off - they'll keep you safe in the depth of the forest, but they won't be much of a help in taming that wild bull you had a run-in with last time.
Services: 50 Medals per Sprite. You may request that particular Sprites come along - Martin fights with agility wielding a wooden spear, Oswall is partial to his slingshot.
Leader: Martin
- Oswall
Investigation Team
The Pink Team stay updated on everything - even when not hired for medals, they're the Sprites to creep into the village and snoop on the activities of its people to report to the others. But spying and nosing isn't all that they do - you can hire them just as acceptably to listen in on a conversation through the walls of the rooms at the Inn or hover over Pierre as he cooks a dinner for his family as you can for them to draw you a map to the lair of a fascinating monster in the caves or check the woods for interesting landmarks.
Services: 100 Medals per job of any kind.
Leader: Mingo
Messenger Team
The White Team will make any deliveries or transportations that you can't or don't want to make on your own or through Anette or Zack - this includes anonymous presents, or handling of delicate or unpackageable items.
Services: 20 Medals per Sprite needed - delivery of a letter that a single Sprite can carry will only cost 20 Medals, while to have a new calf or foal led to a friend's farm as a surprise may cost from 60 to 100 Medals.
Leader: Dovie
- Snowel
- Eger
Sprite Casino Team
The quickest way to earn medals, if you play your cards right (which was a pun), without needing to tap into your Gold is to stake them on a game or so at Sprite Casino. Most of the games at the Casino are card-based and include High-and-Low and a couple of variants of Solitaire. Bets are negotiable - for more straightforward games such as the aforementioned High-and-Low, however, consecutive wins will increase whatever you have on the table by fifty-plus percent, while games such as solitaires have a price do play and award medals with progress - base price is generally 50 Medals with a potential payoff of 800. Maggie and her Sprites are also always up for grouping together to play blackjack and such - and not only against one non-Sprite challenger at a time.
The Sprite Casino does not halve prices for farmers and their friends.
Leader: Maggie
- Rave
- Swain
- Coro
Sprite Market Team
We'll bet you expected that the Harvest Goddess's nature sprite attendants have access to certain things that the everyday citizens of Bower Village wouldn't be able to offer you, at least easily - they will share a bit of whatever they have on hand that may interest their Goddess's guests at Sprite Market in exchange for Medals.
Inventory changes from time to time - new offerings of note will be mentioned in monthly OOC updates.
Prices:
- Mushroom Spores (Toadstool, Shiitake, Trumpet, Button, and Milk Cap) - 5 Medals per pouch. Sow them on a designated piece of wood or bit of mulchy ground, keep them moist, and wait for them to grow. Mushrooms can be picked multiple times; Toadstools and Shiitake will grow in all seasons, Trumpet in Summer, and Button and Milk Cap in Autumn.
- Herb Seeds (Basil, Rosemary, Thyme, Sage, Lavender) - 5 Medals per pouch. Herbs will grow in all seasons, although Basil and Lavender grow best in Spring and Summer.
